My Mom died from HD in 2003. My Grandma also was diagnosed with HD and died 3 months after my Mom. I also believe that my Uncle and several of my Mom's aunts and uncles had HD, but they died before they were diagnosed.

Quick Bio

I currently am working a couple jobs and attending school, focusing on business management and finance. I have the best family and friends in the WORLD and could not have gotten through everything without them. I was tested for HD on December 21, 2007 and received the results on February 8, 2008, stating that I was negative for HD. My Dad is my best friend and has been there for me for anything and everything. I realized that no matter what the outcome, It's my goal to live life to the fullest...and try to be there for everyone who has experienced the same thing as me...we can and will get through this!

Lineage Information

My Mom was diagnosed with HD in 1993 and died in 2003. I was just recently tested on December 21, 2007 and found out that I tested negative on February 8, 2008. My younger sister, who is 19 was tested earlier this year and tested positive. I am the first of my family members to get tested, since my Mom and Grandma and hope to help them make a decision on getting tested in the near future.

Current Symptoms

Current Treatment

My Mom underwent an experimental surgery in 1998 in which pig cells were implanted into her brain to see if it would help with the growth of her own cells and help improve any of her symptoms of Huntington's. I asked Dr. Shannon last week if anything had become of this, and she stated that, unfortunately no one saw an improvement from the surgery.

My Doctor

Dr. Kathleen Shannon-Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center/Movement Disorders/Neurology

Dr. Bryan Bernard-Rush Presbyterian St. Luke's Medical Center/Movement Disorders/ Neurology

Both of them are my current doctors and were my Mom's doctors as well
