I feel so out of place sometimes at the support meetings, because I have nothing to share. I haven't been around my family members with HD to even begin to understand what everyone is going through. All the stories frighten me. I pray I don't end up with this dreadful disease, but my odds of getting HD are better than winning the lottery. I keep going because I'm trying to learn as much as I can. I wish my husband would show more of an interest, but I don't want to force him. He's either very optimistic or in denial. I've asked him to attend the meeting with me in October. I'm glad you have a great support group in place, and I hope we can become better friends.

It was a pleasure meeting you at the meeting. It's a good place to talk to people about HD who know about HD. Most of my close friends I've told still don't understand. I hope to see you at future meetings and hope all is going well with your new job. A former co-worker of mine is also starting work at your current employment. She does not know about my situation.
Beth it is on the corner of 1st and State. The address is 103 W. State and the house is called St. Lukes Womens Life. We meet the 2nd tuesday of every month at 6:30pm. We would love for you to join. The next meeting will be April 8th. There are also people that attend that support someone with HD and there are some that have tested negative but have lost someone to HD or have family memebers that are still at risk.
I live in Boise, Idaho as well. There is a support group that meets the 2nd tuesday of every month. I find it beneficial to be with people face to face that have HD or are at risk like me. I would like for you to come if you can.
I think the two best things any of us can do are a) raise awarenes and b) ask for donations from those who are in a position to help. Have a great weekend. Julie
