I know exactly what you mean. the last month of my dad's life was horrible. He went into the last stage of HD for that month. My mom pretty much lived at the nursing home for that month.. because she was so worried about him. He was at the nursing home for 5 years they all loved him there and they were like family. I can't say I kno my future because I haven't been tested but... being that I'm at risk...i can relate to having trouble because in the future that may be you.
You live in Mass. right? I'm not sure if I've told you this yet but February 21st and 22nd. Connecticut is having a walk for HD and then a Youth Retreat.. Kind of like a mini convention and I would love for you to come. It's open to all of new england.
Hi Mindy!!! How are you doing? It is nice to have people like you that know what I am through. I also lost my Dad. He died in September after battling HD for 20 years. I miss him everyday. My Dad had a bad case of pneumonia the week before he died. He was on oxygen and coughing a lot. My Dad's speech was really slurred. Watching my Dad die was so hard for me. My Mom was at my Dad's nursing home everyday before he died. I tried to visit with him. It was really hard for me to see my Dad knowing that HD is my future. Since I got diagnosed last year, it was so hard for me to see my Dad. My Dad was in a nursing home for 8 years. Hope to talk to you soon. xo xo xo
I could agree. It's been a rough couple months to be honest I didn't know your father passed as well. Since August I haven't been on WeareHD much, It's been hard for me to stay in touch with HD stuff. So I'm deeply sorry for your loss, I can truly relate.

I'm sorry to hear about ur father as well. It's rough. but we can all get through it..
I think my toughest thing right now is dealing with friends that are getting upset about the small stuff it's like I keep my head high.. and my father just died.. and yet you are upset over the smallest thing and you are extremely miserable.
