Things are working out

July 18, 2010

Yesterday we went to see this shelter. Rather live on the streets. Minutes after being home my church Pastor called. This, my church has an in house substance abuse program with 100 beds. Right now the program needs help. I have voluteered there for years. In Louisiana I am a licenced substance abuse consulor and have spent years helping out. Before you think me such a good man, I confess that in 2004 after loosing mom I went through the program for six months. At the time I really really had serious attitude problems. Most people have issues, I had subscribtions. Pastor says I broke rules they didn't have yet. The place changed my life and more than likely saved it. I stayed on and took the classes to become licenced. A consulor must be there 24-7 so I had an office/bedroom. Nothing brings joy more than watching people change thier life around I have been asking God were does He want me?

Heath is the main concern now. My new cause is to let the world know that us with HD still are able to contribute to society in so many ways. I am very gratefull for this site and those who continue to encourage me. Thanks all of you. Face it there is not many places were a person can rant, rave and dump and no one holds it againts you..

Thanks Jenny, I am so excited to be doing what makes me happy. Helping others. And truthfully I doubt God is too concerned with how many chickens I feed. And it will lift my spirits to be around people who can look past my illness. I do miss my friends

Here's hoping that things continue to work out Bruce.
I have been keeping you in my prayers and thinking about how awful it must be to feel abandoned by your family.

Keep your chin up and know that we are all here for you.

    (((hugs))) from OZ, jenny
