Hi Gene,

I just went on your blog and read the article A New Attitude about HD.  I found it extremely interesting and fact filled! I also found myself relating to much of what you said about being called out as a gene positive person- I live knowing I have the gene and yet struggle everyday wanting to being more active, yet not wanting people to know.  It's actually quite painful. I try to relate it to cancer- if I was diagnosed with cancer I might be more apt to tell people- everyone knows what cancer is which makes it much easier to talk about- I believe I am on the right track, however, as I just told my 9 year old daughter. I believe by her knowing I can be stronger and more active.  As of yet, I always just related HD to her grammy- who she is watching die.  We volunteer for Pacin Parcin and met him when he came home- all very exciting. But certainly not enough.  Your article gives me strength to do what I need to- there are so many people living in this HD community that we DO need to open up and talk about it!
