Heather DugdaleWe have a little Yorkie too. The same situation happened with me and My Mom. I found out in grade 6 that my Mom had it. I lost her when I was 17. It is hard to grow up that way. I had at the age of 13, being the Mother of my two brothers. I have HD. Don't be afraid of getting tested. There is more hope now then there has been in the past 10 years. It is not a life sentence. If you need hope I run a positive HD website.

Rob ClevelandHi Brittany, thanks for the add! Hope you are well! I have 3 children, the eldest of which is my 13 year-old daughter. So far she knows nothing of hd in our lineage (she just thinks Pop-Pop is old and shaky and I am only mildly symptomatic at his point). I'm struggling with the ifs and whens of telling her. In your opinion, is sooner rather than later the best approach?

Heather Alimossyhey thanks. it is very hard to grow up without a mother especially when your mothers still alive but is to sick to be able to be there for you. keep in there. it took me awhile to decide whether i wanted to get tested and i chose to and i don't regret the decision at all. knowing that i have it helps me make decisions about my life.
