In the fall of 2006, in her second year at
Rivier College in Nashua, a girl looked at Meghan Sullivan and said,
"Meg, it's only 10 in the morning. I can't believe you're already
drunk!" She wasn't. An inevitable genetic curse was showing itself.
A few months later, on Valentine's Day 2007, as Sullivan poured
herself a glass of lemonade, her body again betrayed her. The glass

Good afternoon, my name is Phil Hardt. I am the HDSA 2001 Person of
the Year and have been the current Chief Volunteer Officer for the
Arizona Affiliate and Director of their Annual HD and JHD Retreat for
the last 6 years. I had the privilege of testifying about HD in front
of the NIH’s committee on Genetic Discrimination in 2004.
Two months ago I had the bitter-sweet experience of traveling to
Colombia, South America, to the city of Juan de Acosta to help

I always thought that I would write
a book at some point in my life. I
thought one day, I would retire to my cottage in Nantucket, sit on the porch in
a wicker chair overlooking the ocean, and write for days at a time about my
life. The book of course would start slow, growing up in a small town north of
Boston- but then I would soon start the chapters that included fame, fortune,
and romance.
The reality is that I am sitting
here, at my kitchen island, my two year old just went down for his nap- it’s
about 90 degrees outside and my legs...
