Hydrocodone and Involuntary Movements
http://www.drug-addiction.com/hydrocodone_side_effects.htm
It says on here that muscle twitches can be a side effect, (along with an exagerated sense of fear, and depression) but I don't know about when it's discontinued....I assume you have checked out the web on this or asked your doctor?

Thank you Jenny. I have looked online and spoke with a doctor, but they are both very vague and unclear with me. Two days ago I was prescribed Xanax, and ever since I woke up this morning, the twitching has seemed to stop? I am curious if it is the residual Xanax from last night, or the time passing since the last time I took Hydrocodone making the twitching stop? In any case, I hope it is good news.

My husband is an MD who knows a lot about hydrocodone (Vicodin)... answer: generally it does NOT cause involuntary movement when discontinued. It can in HD patients and others w/movement disorders. What was it prescribed for? My mom, who is HD+, had a TERRIBLE time on both Vicodin and Percocet. Both caused increased movement problems, slurring of her speach and emotional changes. She can not be on either anymore. Anxiety can cause "involuntary" movements.
