    Most HD patients need between 5000 and 7000 kilocalories a day. Scientific research showed that the need of calories depend of the number CAG repeats. In other words the more repeats the more calories are needed.

    A balanced diet does not slow down the "speed" of the disease, but the better body weight the more quality of life.
