Fundraising for next year convention

Stephan, I agree we need some collaboration on this site, I started a firstgiving page for the NYA and convinced my local HDSA chapter to donate $100.00 a month for the NYA Scholarship fund. Tabatha that is a great idea. Those bears are cute! When is the reunion? Maybe some corporate sponsors?

Well this is just a simple idea EVERYONE can do...
I started a jar of loose change to donate at next years convention. I drop my loose change it and I'm sure by next year it will be quite a bit. It's a simple idea, but every little bit helps:)

I make Gift basketts If i am able to go I can donate some for the auction! I also make chocolate .

"Change for change". I like that. Everytime I go to Wal Mart I see people asking other people for donations or signatures, maybe I should try raising money that way. Every little bit does help. MAybe we can get catalogs that has stuff for sale that we can sell to friends, and family, co-workers- imagine how much money we can raise!

I have an idea (I've got several actually), but the one that I wanted to try was doing the catalogue-type fundraiser they do at schools...like a catalogue of candles or whatever. I found several great websites to do it from.
I'm also going to try raising money by selling my book (I get 50% off retail price and free shipping). A few other ideas in the works.

i think we should have a plastic jar we can write on them change 4 change and put on the tables were people eat there dinners if every person donates a quater that would be alot of money

I wanna sell "Expect Miracles' bracelets. It is a silver cuff bracelet (the type we wore for the POWs in Vietnam, if anyone else is old enough to remember that!!!!)

just to let ya'll know your nya board is going to be working with the fundraising commitiee to start a change jar fundraiser that we could all put in local shops, restraunts, ect, "change for change" sounds like a good name is it ok if we were to use it?

I've been trying to figure out what we can put on the jars as the label cause I think is should be a nation wide thing. that way we are working as one. And I was thinking that the "change 4 change" as we are now calling it should be done in like november and december. around the holidays while every1 is shopping and feeling generous. just an idea. keep the idea coming everyone!
As long as we all work together we are going to make this the last generation with HD!God Bless!

Mindy, I too think this should be a nation wide effort. I agree with the November/Dececember. If we could have them in stores before Black Friday that would be amazing!

Great Idea, getting all the materials to everyone around like November 1st would be perfect. & I think that all the labels for the jars, boxes, etc. should be the same design. I'm really excited about the "change 4 change" campaign. I think it's simple but can def bring in lots of money.
Also I think that we need to pull together a few more ideas.
My mom has been helping me brain storm and she was thinking that we could begin to pull things together that we could sell over E-bay from now till convention. This way we would have raised money from Auctions through out the year. And maybe be able to have a few Auction items at the Gala reception but not as any as we usually do because we need to reach out and target people uneffected by HD. I hope that made sense.
