WeAreHD.org - The Social Support Network for People Living with Huntington's Disease

 My mother,Anna Clare,  The Saint, not only took care of my father, worked full time job, volunteered at my schools for tuition assistance, she also helped set up the Southwest Ohio HDSA branch, with help of my brothers and numerous other family members.  She died 4 years ago, God rest her soul.  I couldn't understand why God took her when he did, but now I know, if she would had seen her son die, and see me w/HD, it would have killed her anyway.  As a child I assisted with caregiving, with planning, manning, and crafting for our local charity events. I have also helped Mom with some of the work at our local office.  I also helped Mom cope with "the news" each time we realized one of my brothers were getting sick.

I grew up in a household where my father reqiured more help w/adl's.  I helped my mother with him alot.  Out of Anna and Richards 6 children only 2 are without HD.  I am the youngest and the only girl.  We buried Daddy  when I was 18.  We buried Mom 4.5 years ago.  We buried my 2nd oldest brother who was also my god father, Richard, Jr. 3 yrs ago.  This was the same year I was tested.
